Day one of "Scatman Crothers Week!"
If you folllow my blog then you know I'm a huge fan of Benjamin 'Scatman' Crothers. He's one of my favorite all-around entertainers. I was first introduced to him through Saturday morning TV where he supplied the voice for a few Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Then it was 1970's TV shows – Scatman guest-starred on just about all of them. Then it was his movies. Then finally, I discovered Scatman's music...even though that was his first foray into entertainment. And that's what I'm kicking off "Scatman Crothers Week!" with...his music.Check out this mix of super-rare Scatman...

Have been meaning to say for a while, but thanks so much for Scatman Crothers Week... still haven't gotten around to watching the videos, but the mixtapes have been on heavy rotation on my ipod. I think 'Transfusion' might be one of my favourite songs ever now.
I actually came looking for Crothers information becauseof his version of St James Infirmary, which you've not included in any of the mixtapes -- was that a concious decision?
Thanks for the shared enthusiasm of Scatman Crothers.
I tend to share the more rare stuff on this blog and try – for the most part – to steer clear of songs that were released on CD. I've seen many good blogs shut down over copyright infringement. Scatman's version of "St James Infirmary" was released on the CD Oh Yeah!. So that's my reason. Good version, though.
This is an amazing mix!! I am LOVING it.
This is JUST the kind of thing I was looking for - thanks!
