"Me and My Brand New Haircut" - starring Billy Kelly and Davy Jones of The Monkees!

Those of you who follow my blog already know I'm a huge Monkees fan. So having the opportunity to shoot a video with Davy Jones was an honor... thanks to Billy Kelly. Billy is a children's music artist and an old personal friend of mine. This is the second video I shot for him (here's the first). "Me and My Brand New Haircut" can be found on his new album Is This Some Kind of Joke?, and can be found on Amazon, iTunes and places like that.

During the shoot Davy told us stories of his Monkees past and entertained us all with lots of jokes. Some may say he monkeyed around. After the shoot Davy posed for photos and he signed my copy of the first Monkees album – my very first album ever!

Visit www.TheBillyKellyShow.com for more Billy Kelly info.

Hope you enjoy the video!

Frank,

Be proud of the results as the video is great! My thanks and congratulations for "Me and My Brand New Haircut!" I left two comments on Billy Kelly's YouTube site (pending approval) and in one of them I suggested to Davy (if he's reading this) to make a follow up video featuring himself and Maureen McCormick. Of course, I also suggested that you should direct the video. I'm seeing Davy in the recording studio and he's listening to an old track, overhearing "Marcia's" pleas to let her see Davy. He could then begin working on a new track about times gone by, getting older, realizing what matters most in life, and giving a second chance. The camera pulls back and we see Maureen joining him in song. The Brady bunch fans and the Monkees fans would be thrilled by this present and the video shouldn't be expensive at all to produce with little need for effects. If you think about it, you could do what Mike Nesmith couldn't with this one video: you could get Davy to sing a country (country pop) song.

Just a thought.

Thanks again for the video. You captured the essence of the Monkees and the sweetness of Billy Kelly's music for children. You've scored a "hole in one touchdown goal!"

Davy looks the spitting image of Ernie Wise in this video!

Hey There! I've been surfing around in yr blog for about two days straight now, grabbing some great music and reading up on some interesting stuff....my one and only complaint is that some of the links go back not to RapidShare but to your own hosting site, and they're dead....any chance of a few re-ups? Like for instance the live Sabbath and the Lancelot Link lps?

Thanks again, and keep up the good work!
